How the event plays out⌗
Every scheduled race date (listed in the table above), an announcement will go out on the discord an hour before the set start time containing information on the race room.
You should join the race room, and do anything the event admins say.
The race will begin, competitors will finish, and depending on how many racers their are and overall placement, points will be earned. Points earned will be cumulative over the event, and your race with the fewest points will be dropped from your overall score (this includes races you do not participate in).
Following the race, the next game will be revealed, and a runner from the game’s community will preform a showcase of their choosing to show the game off and the category. This continues until all seven games have been raced.
At the end of the event, the top eight individuals who have the highest points and are eligible for participation will advance to a playoff brackets (see playoff information below))
Rules:⌗
- This event is only open to those who are 18 or older. You can still participate in the races, but will not be featured on event stream or be eligible for top 8.
- You must join the discord. The discord channel is linked at the bottom of this page as well as the main page of this website. If we can't reach you, you really can't compete
- On the race date, you will have joined the race channel on speedruns live that will be set up 1 hour prior to the posted times above. You MUST stream the game, failure to do will be considered a forfeit.
- In order to qualify for top 8, you must compete in at least four races for this event. If you only enter three or less, you will be passed over regardless of point count.
- At the start of every race, rules for a "proof-call" will be revealed that must be completed. These will be usually small things set up before the race (such as name entry, or drawing a kirby) or a mundane action that costs very little to no time, but would otherwise likely not be done normally (such as jumping twice before moving at all in Super Mario Bros 1). This is to ensure the integrity of the race and this competition, failure to do so will result in a forfeit.
- Don't be a horrible person. There is a zero-tolerance policy for any bigotry in this event, and will result in immediate removal and disqualification.
Top 8⌗
At the end of all of this, the top 8 qualified players will enter a single elimination playoff bracket. Points earned for each race, as well as race results, will be published on this website - it will also show the current point leaders. Only those eligible for top 8 will be able to participate (see rules above)
There will be best of 3 matches for each round, with each game up for grabs. Players will alternate banning games with the high seed banning first, then the low seed, until 3 games remain. The high seed will then pick the first game to start with. The LOSER of the first race will then pick the second game to play, and the final game will be what remains.
All round of 8 matches will be played on one weekend, and the Semi Final, Bronze Medal, and Grand Final matches will be held the next. The dates are currently pending, but the start times should be consistent.

SpeedSeasons will be utilizing the SpeedRunsLive IRC for the races. You must join the #speedrunslive channel in order to participate. You can use this Mibbit widget here, but it is recommended to download an irc client instead (Setup videos: mIRC and HexChat).
